About me

I began my working life as a teacher, supporting teenagers who were unable to attend mainstream school due to social, emotional and behavioural issues.

In my mid-twenties I began to suffer from frightening physical health issues. My life changed and how I viewed the world changed dramatically within a few months. I decided to continue my training in counselling while I was recovering. I recognised that although my medical issues were physical, my state of mind had a huge impact on how well I recovered.

Up until 2018 I lectured in counselling, training mature students to become qualified counsellors at a large local college. I also studied for a PGCE and gained qualified teacher status during this time. However, I found my lecturing role took up so much time I had little time left to meet with clients. Therefore I decided to focus entirely on client work.

I am now a highly experienced, qualified and BACP Accredited Counsellor and I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework. As well as meeting with clients privately, I am also a counsellor for the Police Federation and I see NHS clients.

Due to my extensive and diverse experience, I have worked with many different people from all walks of life. If your situation feels overwhelming and complicated, rest assured I will work hard to bring you clarity.

I am experienced in working with adults from 18 years old and upwards. I do not offer counselling to young people as I am not specifically trained in this area.
